Garden Room Installation February 2017

This weeks project included this Garden Room installation in Aberdeen. A stunning 7m x 4m Cedar Clad garden room, this included a secret storage within the garden room. The garden room was manufactured using SIP panels throughout, and clad externally with Western Red Cedar. Externally the garden room was completed with a 1m projection decking to the front elevation. Windows and doors were manufactured with UPVC finished in a anthracite grey. Internally the walls and ceiling are finished with a plasterboard skim finish, commercial grade laminate flooring with skirting. Our electrical package consists of LED down lights, power sockets consumer unit and a heater. This customer requested our basic acoustic upgrade of double plasterboard to assist with sound blocking.

“For several years, I wanted some sort of space in our garden which would allow multi-purpose use for me and my family. Primarily a space for setting up a counselling practice, but could also be used by my son as he grows up so he has a separate space to have friends over and band practice!

With the help of my family down in Yorkshire, they visited Bridge Timber Garden Rooms in Halifax. They had planned going to see other suppliers, but on meeting Kerri and Paul’s father at their showroom, they felt they had found the right company to supply our new garden space; being impressed with the overall build and quality but also the down to earth way the Bridge Timber team were.

Bridge Timber were incredibly patient, we had an initial build date of September 2016 which went by, as we needed to check if planning permission was required. The local council took some +4 months to come back to confirm ultimately it was done under ‘permitted development’. I am grateful to Kerri for her help and guidance during this period.

The build took place in February 2017, taking just under 2 weeks to complete. Their team, Craig and Alex, were very proactive and suggesting tweaks to the design as they went along. They were a pleasure to work with.

The finished product is fabulous, it looks so modern, I still can’t quite believe it’s ours. Having approx. 5 m x 4m for the garden room itself, which is a brilliant size, and the store room attached being approx. 2 m x 4 m. We look forward to enjoying our garden room for many years to come.”
